🧾 Ingredients
-
4–6 pork chops (bone-in or boneless)
-
1 tsp salt
-
½ tsp black pepper
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
1 tsp onion powder
-
2 tbsp flour
-
2 tbsp butter
-
1 tbsp oil
-
1 medium onion, sliced
-
3 garlic cloves, minced
-
1 cup chicken broth
-
1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
-
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-
½ tsp paprika
-
Optional: fresh parsley for garnish
🍳 Instructions
1. Season the Pork Chops
Sprinkle salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder on both sides.
2. Lightly Flour the Chops
Dust each chop with flour — this helps the sauce become thick and luxurious.
3. Sear Until Golden
Heat butter and oil in a skillet.
Sear pork chops 3–4 minutes per side until browned.
Remove and set aside.
4. Make the Sauce
In the same pan, sauté onions until soft.
Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
Stir in chicken broth, scraping browned bits from the bottom.
Pour in heavy cream, Worcestershire, and paprika.
Simmer until slightly thickened.
5. Smother & Simmer
Return pork chops to the pan.
Cover and cook 20–25 minutes on low until tender and fully coated in creamy gravy.
6. Serve Warm
Perfect over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
⭐ Tips for Extra Flavor
-
Add mushrooms for a classic smothered style.
-
For deeper color, let the sauce simmer uncovered for the last 5 minutes.
-
